AOW:Energy 2026 will take place from September 1 to 3, 2026, at Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City in Accra, Ghana. The event is a high-level platform focused on Africa’s upstream oil and gas sector, bringing together governments, national oil companies, international operators, investors, financiers and service providers. With more than three decades of industry history, AOW:Energy is centred on exploration, production, project development and investment opportunities across African energy markets. The 2026 edition will continue under Sankofa Events, with a strong emphasis on African-led growth, upstream deal-making and long-term energy-sector development.
The event is designed for senior executives, ministers, regulators, geoscientists, exploration teams, investors, project developers, financial institutions and companies providing technical and professional services to the upstream sector. Discussions and meetings address licensing opportunities, new exploration prospects, joint ventures, project finance, mergers and acquisitions, gas monetisation and investment frameworks. National governments and NOCs also use the platform to present country-specific opportunities, policy developments and areas where international partners can participate in future exploration and production programmes.
The 2026 programme includes the Main Plenary Stage, Ministerial & Leadership Forum, Africa Content Forum, Prospect Forum, Nigerian Upstream Investment Forum, National Showcases and a dedicated Energy Finance & Investment Forum. These formats combine policy dialogue with technical and commercial discussions, including subsurface opportunities, local content development and new financing structures for African projects. By connecting policy, geological opportunity and capital within one platform, AOW:Energy provides a specialised setting for companies and governments seeking to advance upstream investment and partnerships across Africa.
